Las mujeres constituyen la mayoría de la población adulta mayor, pero, salvo excepciones, están subrepresentadas entre quienes perciben pensiones. Si bien en la región se ha avanzado en la inclusión por medio de pensiones no contributivas, estas son las prestaciones de menor monto y no permiten a las mujeres superar la situación de pobreza. In 2018, bond issuance from Latin American and the Caribbean (LAC) slowed, bond spreads widened and credit quality deteriorated. The region saw the best and the worst conditions for tapping international capital markets in 2018. Countries are increasingly interested in having an official multidimensional poverty index (MPI). This is the expression of a growing consensus regarding the limitations of income poverty measures as standalone indicator. This paper analyses the challenges in designing such indices.
