Reunión interregional de indicadores ODM: "Compartiendo experiencias para mejorar el monitoreo y reporte de los ODM"

La Comisión Económica para América Latina y el Caribe (CEPAL), en conjunto con las otras 4 comisiones regionales de Naciones Unidas: ESCAP, ECA, ESCWA y UNECE, se encuentra organizando la Reunión interregional de indicadores ODM: "Compartiendo experiencias para mejorar el monitoreo y reporte de los ODM",

Esta actividad forma parte del proyecto interregional "Strengthening statistical and inter-institutional capacities for monitoring the Millennium Development Goals through interregional cooperation and knowledge-sharing", que pretende mejorar la producción de estadísticas actualizadas y comparables a escala nacional, regional y global, promoviendo el trabajo colaborativo entre regiones y países, y multiplicando así los impactos a largo plazo.

En este marco el seminario tiene como objetivo intercambiar buenas prácticas en la producción, monitoreo y reporte de los indicadores de los ODM, además del abordar diferentes aspectos estadísticos de los mismos. Tres países de cada región están siendo invitados a presentar sus experiencias, en particular aquellos en donde el trabajo de seguimiento de los ODM ha servido para mejorar la calidad de la producción estadística y ampliar su difusión, mejorar la coordinación interinstitucional en el ámbito de los SEN y promover el uso efectivo de las estadísticas por parte de la políticas nacionales tendientes a cumplir con los compromisos asumidos en la Cumbre Mundial.
