Caribbean Youth Dialogues 2025 in preparation of the ECOSOC Youth Forum
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is an opportunity to galvanize action aimed at promoting greater inclusion of youth in all spheres. This roadmap recognizes in several of its goals the centrality of the full incorporation of youth as a necessary condition to move towards more inclusive societies, in which no one is left behind, on a path to sustainable development. However, youth in the Caribbean face many challenges that need to be addressed as precursors to creating environments that enable them to reach their maximum potential to contribute to the achievement of SDGs by 2030, thereby leaving a legacy for future youth generations.

Skill WAVE: Workshop for Action, Vision and Entrepreneurship - Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
ECLAC Caribbean will be hosting a series of capacity building workshops, meant to build entrepreneurship skills among target groups in each country. The workshops should provide tools necessary to enhance entrepreneurship and related business activities, with priority given to women.

Regional training workshop on the use of REDATAM for the dissemination of census and survey microdata
The overall objective of this regional workshop is to train staff from the statistical offices of Jamaica and Belize in the use of REDATAM for the development of web applications for online dissemination of census and survey microdata. With follow-up support from ECLAC to be provided as necessary, the two statistical offices will then use REDATAM for online dissemination of their 2022 census data.

A cross section of the “Caribbean Twenty Percent” (youth between 15 and 29) is set to assemble virtually on 26 and 27 March and make promises to the sustainable future of their countries, region and world at the Caribbean Youth Dialogues ’25.

Minister of Planning and Development Pennelope Beckles-Robinson is set to chair the 30th meeting of the Caribbean Development and Cooperation Committee (CDCC), at which ministers and other high-level representatives from over 20 Caribbean member countries, along with the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), Jose Manuel Salazar Xirinachs, will gather to discuss the sustainable development of the subregion.
