El proyecto se centra en consolidar retos definidos en el marco de la Agenda 2030 para el Desarrollo Sostenible, específicamente los relacionados con el ODS 14 ("Conservar y utilizar en forma sostenible los océanos, los mares y los recursos marinos para el desarrollo sostenible") y el ODS 6 ("Agua limpia y saneamiento").
