The thirty-first session of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) was held in Uruguay, from 20 to 24 March 2006.By a resolution adopted at the thirtieth session (San Juan, Puerto Rico, 28 June-2 July 2004) and subsequently approved by the Economic and Social Council by its resolution 2004/47, the member States accepted the offer extended by Uruguay to host the session. The meeting is being held in accordance with the ECLAC calendar of conferences for the period 2004-2006.…
