Reunión de alto nivel para la fijación de precios de carbono
El Gobierno de Chile, con el apoyo de la Comisión Económica para Latinoamérica y el Caribe (CEPAL), el Grupo del Banco Mundial, la Alianza de Preparación para los Mercados de Carbono (PMR), la Coalición de Liderazgo para la Fijación del Precio del Carbono (CPLC), el Gobierno de Canadá y la Agencia del Gobierno Federal Alemán (GIZ), organizaron la reunión de alto nivel sobre instrumentos de precio al carbono y sistemas de medición, reporte y verificación, del 22 al 24 de enero en la sede regional de la CEPAL en Santiago de Chile. El objetivo de la reunión fue facilitar un diálogo entre los gobiernos de los países Chile, México, Colombia y Perú y otros expertos en las Américas sobre los sistemas de monitoreo, reporte y verificación del carbono (MRV). Esta reunión de alto nivel continúa los esfuerzos en la región para promover los mercados de carbono mediante la discusión de la innovación y la colaboración para mejorar los sistemas de MRV. El evento reunió a autoridades públicas de Chile, México, Colombia y Perú, así como a expertos internacionales de California, Canadá y Europa, el cual intercambiaran opiniones para mejorar los sistemas de MRV.
