The Regional Seminar on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals Indicators “Progress in the development of monitoring frameworks for the 2030 Agenda in Latin America and the Caribbean” was held in Santiago, Chile, on 3 and 4 April 2017. It was jointly organized by ECLAC and the United Nations Statistics Division on the occasion of the sixteenth meeting of the Executive Committee of the Statistical Conference of the Americas of ECLAC.


The objective of the seminar is to share and reflect with the directors of the national statistical offices of the countries of the region and other statistical agencies participating in the SCA/ECLAC on the processes of design and construction of the frameworks of indicators for monitoring SDG of the 2030 Agenda at the international, regional and national level, and address the associated statistical challenges.

The seminar is developed within the framework of the activities proposed in the United Nations Development Account Programmes on Statistics and Data, which seeks to strengthen the National Statistical Systems to respond to the information challenges arising from the implementation of the 2030 Agenda.
