In the field of environmental statistics, the Statistics Division promotes conceptual and methodological development of environmental statistics and indicators in Latin America and the Caribbean, disseminates comparable information at a regional level and provides technical assistance and training to countries in the region.

La Universidad Nacional de Rosario y la CEPAL impulsan un curso para capacitar en la producción de estadísticas e indicadores ambientales, clave para diseñar políticas efectivas y proteger el medio ambiente. La formación se basa en estándares internacionales como el MDEA de Naciones Unidas y apoya el cumplimiento de compromisos globales, incluida la Agenda 2030.
