In the field of environmental statistics, the Statistics Division promotes conceptual and methodological development of environmental statistics and indicators in Latin America and the Caribbean, disseminates comparable information at a regional level and provides technical assistance and training to countries in the region.

The Forum provides a unique platform for statisticians, policymakers, disaster risk practitioners, and other stakeholders to exchange knowledge and strengthen collaboration to improve the quality, coherence, and use of disaster-related statistics in support of risk-informed sustainable development.
