Violencia en las ciudades de México: un análisis de tres períodos

A partir de la utilización de zonas metropolitanas como unidades de análisis, en este estudio se observan las correlaciones de diversos factores de riesgo asociados al delito con las tasas de homicidio. Entre los principales hallazgos, se encontró una correlación fuerte entre el índice de retención escolar en 1994 y la tasa de homicidios a finales de la década de 2000. También se encontró una correlación entre la tasa de homicidios y el porcentaje de viviendas deshabitadas por zona metropolitana.
