El mercado laboral rural en México: caracterización y agenda de investigación

RESUMENEn este trabajo se presenta tanto una caracterización como un esbozo de agenda de investigación del mercado laboral rural en México. Se utiliza información de diversas fuentes estadísticas para tratar de identificar las tendencias y los aspectos más relevantes de dicho mercado en los años recientes. El análisis también contiene una breve revisión de la literatura reciente acerca del tema y se plantean algunas preguntas importantes que podrían ayudar a entender mejor la situación del mercado laboral rural mexicano en un contexto caracterizado por una serie de reformas económicas implementadas, que podrían haber tenido efectos significativos en la dinámica del sector rural. Se brinda especial consideración a la mujer rural, en la medida en que los indicadores lo permiten.ABSTRACTIn this document a characterization and an investigation outline of the rural labour market in Mexico are made. The study tries to identify the trends and the most relevant aspects of the rural labour market in Mexico in recent years through the information obtained from diverse statistical sources.The analysis also contains a brief review of recent literature on the subject and indicates some relevant questions that could help to better understand the situation of the Mexican rural labour market, in a context characterized by economic reforms that could have had important effects in the dynamics of the rural sector. In the study a special consideration to the rural woman is offered, as far as the available statistics allows it.
