The Regional Conference on South-South Cooperation in Latin America and the Caribbean, a subsidiary body of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), aims to promote the strengthening of national South-South and triangular cooperation mechanisms and their possible interactions with North-South and multilateral cooperation. The conference encouraged regional and extra-regional actors, donor countries and international organizations to engage in South-South and triangular cooperation to facilitate knowledge and technology transfer and achieve cooperation activities.

En este marco, también se celebró el I Diálogo con Cooperantes de la Estrategia Mesoamericana de sustentabilidad Ambiental. EMSA es una iniciativa impulsada dentro del Proyecto de Integración y Desarrollo de Mesoamérica, en coordinación con la Comisión Centroamericana de Ambiente y Desarrollo, con el propósito de incrementar y fortalecer las capacidades de cooperación en desarrollo sostenible para mejorar la calidad de vida de la región.
