The Latin American and Caribbean Institute for Economic and Social Planning (ILPES) and the Ministry of Planning, Budget and Management (MPOG) of the Federative Republic of Brazil held the XIII Conference of Ministers and Heads of Planning of Latin America and the Caribbean and The XIV Meeting of the Regional Planning Council.
Both meetings were held in the offices of the Ministry of Planning, Budget and Management of the Federative Republic of Brazil, in Brasilia, on November 21 and 22, 2013.

The city of Brasilia hosted the XIII Conference of Ministers and Heads of Planning of Latin America and the Caribbean and the XIV Meeting of the Regional Planning Council (CRP), which brought together the highest authorities in the region in terms of Planning of public policies for development.
The Conference is an open event, upon invitation, which brings together ministers and heads of planning in Latin America and the Caribbean and aims to promote dialogue and cooperation in development planning and public management. This year's meeting focused on the articulation between development planning and Latin American and Caribbean integration. Topics such as long-term vision, public investment and infrastructure for integration were tackled from a regional perspective.
Concluded the Conference was the XIV Meeting of the CRP, the highest intergovernmental body to guide the activities of ILPES. This closed forum is made up of representatives of ILPES member states. Its agreements are contained in resolutions submitted for ratification at the sessions of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC). The XIV Meeting of the Council considered the ILPES work program until 2017 and elected a new Board of Directors of the Institute for that period.
