In a letter addressed to the President of the Republic of Turkey (Türkiye), Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, dated February 10, the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) expressed its “deep sorrow and concern over the devastating effects of the earthquake” that struck that country on February 6 and conveyed its solidarity for the irreparable loss of life caused by this sad occurrence.
Turkey has been a Member State of ECLAC since July 25, 2017.

En una carta dirigida al Presidente de la República de Turquía, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, fechada el 10 de febrero, la Comisión Económica para América Latina y el Caribe (CEPAL) manifestó su “profunda tristeza y preocupación por los devastadores efectos del terremoto” que sacudió a ese país el 6 de febrero y transmitió su solidaridad por la irreparable pérdida de vidas causada por este triste suceso.
