(30 July, 2012) The President of the Center for Strategic Studies and Management in Science, Technology and Innovation (CGEE), Mariano Laplane, visited the ECLAC headquarters in Santiago, Chile, on Monday 30 July, where he met the Executive Secretary, Alicia Bárcena, and the Deputy Executive Secretary, Antonio Prado. The representatives of both institutions signed a new cooperation agreement.

(29 December 2011) According to the thirteenth issue of the bulletin Challenges launched today by ECLAC and UNICEF, it is estimated that 10% of children under the age of five in Latin America and the Caribbean are not registered, which infringes their ability to exercise their social, economic, civil and cultural rights.

(Georgetown, 31 May 2012) The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) ended its second Caribbean Development Rountable (CDR) meeting on Wednesday with calls for Governments to design a fiscal covenant to address the costs and benefits of fiscal consolidation.
