National Office, Argentina
Located in Buenos Aires, the ECLAC office in Argentina was created in December 1973 by virtue of a cooperation agreement between the Office of the Executive Secretary of ECLAC and the Government of Argentina. The new office started work in 1974. In March 2002, senior cabinet members of the Office of the President of Argentina and the Deputy Executive Secretary of ECLAC signed a new Cooperation Agreement between the Commission and the Government of Argentina.

Strengthening capacities for statistical-geospatial integration in the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Region
ECLAC is collaborating with statistical agencies from the City and Province of Buenos Aires in the development of the indicator system for the Buenos Aires metropolitan region and its statistical geoportal, REMEBA.

The Second Session of the Regional Conference on South-South Cooperation in Latin America and the Caribbean will be held on June 17-18, 2025, bringing together representatives of the region’s countries, the United Nations system, and regional and international organizations.

ECLAC Trained Provincial Officials from Argentina in Investment and Export Promotion in a Program Organized by CFI
As part of its cooperation with the Federal Investment Council (CFI), ECLAC delivered three modules in the Provincial Investment and Export Promotion Program, a course aimed at more than 80 officials from Argentine provinces. This initiative is part of the activities the United Nations regional commission is promoting to strengthen the institutional capacities of countries and their territories in matters of productive development and economic governance.
