Subregional Headquarters, Port of Spain

The mission of the ECLAC subregional headquarters for the Caribbean is to deepen the understanding of the development challenges facing the Caribbean, and to contribute to solutions by conducting research and analysis and providing sound policy advice and technical assistance to Caribbean governments, focused on growth with equity and recognition of the subregion’s vulnerability.

  • Regional and National Dialogues on External Financing and Climate-Resilient Development

    Guided by an enhanced framework, UNCTAD led data collection field missions, identifying their current and potential external financial options, blockages and impediments to the uptake of innovative financial instruments, as well as the regulatory, institutional, and market-related changes required to encourage these innovations. These efforts culminated in the delivery of climate adaptation and mitigation reports for each country, assessing direct and indirect climate risks and proposing strategies to address these risks and achieve SDGs 17.4 and 13.b and will contribute to the regional discussion. 
  • National capacity building workshop in strategic policy planning - St Kitts and Nevis

    The overall objective of the national workshop is to strengthen the skills level of senior management and technical staff of the Government of the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis in strategic policy planning. The course will enhance national capacity in assessing development options and monitoring and evaluation towards promoting national sustainable development and resilience building.
  • Skill WAVE: Antigua and Barbuda

    ECLAC Caribbean will be hosting a series of capacity building workshops, meant to build entrepreneurship skills among target groups in each country. The workshops should provide tools necessary to enhance entrepreneurship and related business activities, specifically targeted toward youth and female entrepreneurs.
