The agenda for this seminar addresses the update of the "System of National Accounts Manual (SNA) 2025", and the future of economic statistics in the face of new challenges discussed within the Expert Group on National Accounts (Advisory Expert Group, AEG). In this sense, it discusses the current situation, the changing dynamics generated in the measurement processes, the challenges we face in approaching the new statistics and sources of information, and the testing and experimentation mechanisms proposed to the countries.

Furthermore, the event focuses on the regional panorama on short-term statistics in national accounts, the novelties in these measurements, and the good practices implemented in our countries to expand the coverage of the quarterly accounts in coherence with the National Accounts Manual (SNA). Likewise, a space has been set aside for learning about regional experiences in the new measurement challenges associated with emerging issues, the conduct of economic censuses, and the use and management of administrative records in generating national accounts statistics

Finally, the activities of the working groups within the framework of the Statistical Conference of the Americas (SCA), the status of the 2021 cycle of the International Comparison Program (ICP), and the projects developed within the Statistics Division will be reviewed.
