Seventh meeting of the Statistical Conference of the Americas of ECLAC

The Statistical Conference of the Americas of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean shall be a subsidiary body of the Commission that shall contribute to the progress of policies on statistics and statistical activities in the countries of the region.

The Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), Alicia Bárcena, advocated promoting the strengthening of national statistical offices in the region and thus the quality of them to advance development for equality during the seventh meeting of the Statistical Conference of the Americas (CEA).

Substantive issues:

1.-The post-2015 development agenda and challenges for national statistical systems in Latin America and the Caribbean: Seventh regional seminar on the MDG "The Post-2015 development agenda and challenges for national statistical systems in Latin America and the Caribbean"

2.-Development of basic economic statistics in the framework of the System of National Accounts (SNA 2008) in Latin America and the Caribbean.(Only Spanish)

3.- Progress and challenges regarding gender mainstreaming in producing statistics within national statistical systems.

4 -  Pro-quality institutional strengthening of national statistical offices and systems. (Only Spanish)
