The present workshop will seek to analyze how the Escazú Agreement contributes to the implementation of the environmental dimension of the 2030 Agenda in an effective and coherent manner in Guyana. The Escazú Agreement one of the four environmental treaties highlighted by the United Nations Secretary-General in 2019 in support of the 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development. In the framework of the general debate of the seventy-fourth session of the General Assembly, a specific space will be devoted for authorities of the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean to sign and/or ratify the Escazú Agreement at the highest level possible at 10 a.m. on 26 September 2019 in the Treaty Event Area (“Kuwaiti boat”) in the General Assembly building.…
