(10 January 2013) In Latin America and the Caribbean, 94% of primary-school age children were enrolled at school, but the figure was just 75% for the secondary level of education. (10 de enero, 2013) En América Latina y el Caribe, 94% de los niños en edad de cursar la educación primaria se encontraban matriculados en ese nivel educativo, pero el porcentaje llegó solo a 75% para el caso de la matrícula en el segundo nivel de enseñanza. Asimismo, el número de personas que cursaron estudios técnicos o universitarios en el quintil más rico fue, en promedio, tres veces más alto que en el quintil más pobre, según datos reproducidos por la Comisión Económica para América Latina y el Caribe (CEPAL).
