(25 August 2011) Today, the Executive Secretary of ECLAC, Alicia Bárcena stated that developing countries in Asia and Latin America and the Caribbean must act proactively in the present world economic scenario and take advantage of the opportunities which growing exchange and South-South cooperation offer. Member countries of the Forum for East Asia-Latin America Cooperation represent 36% of global GDP, and 32% of exports and 28% of imports at global level.
