El seminario "Buscando una mayor alineación entre el comercio y la sostenibilidad: una perspectiva latinoamericana" tendrá lugar los días 20 y 21 de marzo en la Sede de la Comisión Económica para América Latina y el Caribe (CEPAL) en Santiago de Chile. Este evento es coorganizado por la Oficina de la CEPAL en Washington, DC, su División de Comercio Internacional e Integración, el proyecto “Remaking Global Trade for a Sustainable Future” y el Centro de Tecnología e Industrialización para el Desarrollo de la Universidad de Oxford (TIDE). Su objetivo es reflexionar, desde la perspectiva de América Latina y el Caribe, sobre cómo lograr una mayor articulación entre el comercio internacional, la sostenibilidad ambiental y la transición verde.
El evento contará con la participación de viceministros de comercio de la región, así como de académicos, representantes de la sociedad civil, ejecutivos empresariales y expertos provenientes de diversos países. La conferencia incluye paneles sobre comercio y geopolítica, sostenibilidad, economía digital, biodiversidad y cadenas de valor, entre otros. Los participantes analizarán los desafíos y oportunidades derivados de los cambios en las dinámicas del comercio global, abordando temas como el aumento del proteccionismo, el desacoplamiento tecnológico y los crecientes requisitos de sostenibilidad en el comercio internacional. También explorarán estrategias para aprovechar la cooperación e integración regional, diversificar las alianzas comerciales y posicionar a América Latina como líder global en la transición verde.
