Indigenous Peoples and Afro-descendants in Latin America and the Caribbean Data bank - PIAALC

Within the framework of the processes of the democratization of information, CELADE, the Population Division of ECLAC makes available this Data Bank with indicators for indigenous and afro-descendant peoples, created with the support of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the Spanish International Cooperation Agency for Development (AECID).

This Data Bank contains different subsystems of information that were created on the basis of several projects developed by the Division in recent years. These projects have been made possible through the support of different United Nations organizations and with international cooperation, such as the Pan American Health Organization, the Fund for the Development of the Indigenous Peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean, the Ibero-American Youth Organization, the Inter-American Development Bank, and the Ford Foundation. This is a Data Bank under construction, with room for perfection, and which will be expanded and updated according to CELADE activities.
