Health
Health is a fundamental dimension of inclusive social development and sustainable development of societies. Health is not only a right of individuals, but also enables the possibilities of education, access to decent work and the generation of inclusive economic growth oriented towards the end of poverty and inequality. Despite this, ECLAC has emphasized that in Latin America and the Caribbean there are still several obstacles to access to quality and timely health care, generating profound inequalities in the health of the population. This is linked to the structural problems that afflict the health systems of Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as to the persistent unequal distribution of the social determinants of health, all of which is crossed by the region's matrix of social inequality.
