La Unidad de Recursos Naturales no Renovables de la CEPAL tiene como objetivo mejorar la gobernanza y potenciar el uso y la explotación sostenible de los recursos naturales no renovables en América Latina y el Caribe. La misión de la CEPAL en el área de recursos naturales no renovables se centra en fortalecer la capacidad institucional de los países de la región para instrumentar políticas públicas y generar conocimientos que permitan aumentar la eficiencia en la gestión sostenible de este tipo de recursos naturales. La CEPAL busca desarrollar y apoyar las buenas prácticas de gobernanza de los recursos naturales; favorecer una gestión más sostenible de las actividades mineras; proporcionar información y conocimientos a los tomadores de decisiones; y fomentar iniciativas con enlaces positivos entre la actividad extractiva, la innovación, el desarrollo de capacidades técnicas y científicas y los encadenamientos productivos, en concordancia con los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) de la Agenda 2030 para el Desarrollo Sostenible.

The Thirteenth International Forum on Energy for Sustainable Development brought together global leaders and experts in Bangkok to address the challenges and opportunities of an inclusive energy transition. Over three days of intense discussions, key strategies were explored to expand access to renewable energy, promote gender equity, and strengthen regional cooperation. The event concluded with the signing of a United Nations Joint Statement, reaffirming the global commitment to building a sustainable and socially equitable energy future.
