Description
The 2008 edition of the Statistical Yearbook for Latin America and the Caribbean retains the content and design of the past three years. The aim is to respond to the demands of users who require statistical information in order to analyse the economic and social situation of the region.
This year’s issue of the Yearbook comprises four chapters. The first covers demographic and social indicators, reflecting special efforts to mainstream the gender perspective in statistical information. The second chapter presents basic economic, trade and balance-of-payments statistics as well as national accounts. Taking account of the growing concern of the regional and international community for sustainable development, the third chapter provides the available information on the environment and
natural resources.
