The purpose of this issue of the Demographic Bulletin is to present detailed population information for
the twenty countries of Latin America, disaggregated by sex, single ages and calendar year, for
1995-2005. These estimates are generated on the basis of national projections using a procedure designed
in the Demography Area of the Latin American and Caribbean Demographic Centre - Population
Division (CELADE)
