The 60th Meeting of the Presiding Officers of the Regional Conference on Women in Latin America and the Caribbean was held virtually from 23 to 25 February 2021.
At the 60th Meeting of the Presiding Officers of the Regional Conference on Women in Latin America and the Caribbean, delegations reported on the progress made in the implementation of the Santiago Commitment, taking into account the context of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
In addition, a special regional consultation session was held prior to the 65th session of the Commission on the Status of Women.
The 60 Meeting was organized by ECLAC, as the Secretariat of the Regional Conference, in coordination with the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN-Women).
The Regional Conference on Women in Latin America and the Caribbean is a subsidiary body of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) and is the main regional intergovernmental forum on women's rights and gender equality within the United Nations system.
