At this meeting will analyze from different perspectives the strategic challenges and priorities for the region’s statistical development. These priority areas and the expected outcomes will serve to guide the preparation of the Working Groups’ programs of activities for the 2020-2021 period.

At this eighteenth meeting, the Executive Committee will analyse the priorities for regional statistical development and consider how to address these through collaborative work by the countries. It will also follow up on the biennial programme of regional and international activities, 2018–2019, of the Conference and the activities of the Conference in relation to monitoring of the Sustainable Development Goals. Among other matters, the Committee will also consider the rotation of the members of the Inter-Agency and Expert Group on Sustainable Development Goal Indicators (IAEG-SDG) and the High-level Group for Partnership, Coordination and Capacity-Building for Statistics for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (HLG).
