The 65th Meeting of the Presiding Officers of the Regional Conference on Women in Latin America and the Caribbean was held in hybrid format on 11 and 12 October 2023, at the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) headquarters in Santiago, Chile
Event information
At the sixty-fifth Meeting of the Presiding Officers, delegations exchanged views on the topics to be discussed at the XVI Regional Conference on Women in Latin America and the Caribbean (México, 2025).
In addition, a special regional consultation session was held prior to the 68th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68)
This Meeting was organized by ECLAC, the Secretariat of the Regional Conference, in coordination with the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN-Women). Currently, the Government of Argentina chairs the Presiding Officers of the Regional Conference on Women in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The Regional Conference on Women in Latin America and the Caribbean is a subsidiary body of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) and is the foremost intergovernmental forum of the United Nations on women’s rights and gender equality in the region.
