The First High Level China – Latin America Investment and Cooperation Forum was held in Beijing between 17 and 23 of July 2017. The seminar established policy fundamentals for investment cooperation between Latin America and the Caribbean and the People’s Republic of China. Since 2017, new developments and major changes have taken place including the Second China-CELAC Ministerial Forum, the 19th CPC National Congress, China´s Two Sessions 2018, and presidential elections in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico and Venezuela. The Second High-Level China-Latin America Investment and Cooperation Forum will serve as a platform to discuss best practices and new areas for cooperation as well as to timely contribute to the policy-making processes of many countries and regional development institutions.
The Forum seeks to provide a platform to exchange experiences between the People’s Republic of China and Latin American countries in areas of common and mutual interest. The event will review the current state of economic relations and explore cooperation opportunities in strategic sectors such as infrastructure, clean energy, manufacturing, technology, sustainable agriculture and financing by bringing together high-level representatives from the People’s Republic of China and Latin America and the Caribbean.
The working languages of the Forum will be Spanish, Mandarin, and English with simultaneous interpretation.
