Regional Workshop on the implementation of Rio Principle 10 in the Caribbean Region

This Regional Workshop, was organized by ECLAC, UNEP, UNITAR and WRI-TAI and was held on September 16-17, 2013 at the Hyatt Regency Trinidad in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. The purpose of the workshop was to raise awareness, discuss and build capacity among countries in the region on Principle 10, the Declaration on the application of Principle 10 in Latin America and the Caribbean and the Bali Guidelines.

This activity also explored opportunities for follow-up on national level capacity development in interested countries. The workshop targeted governmental and non-governmental stakeholders who are involved in review processes of relevant national legislation, have decision-making functions relevant to this issue or NGO representatives who actively work on public participation, access to information and access to justice in environmental matters.
