ECLAC has addressed environmental issues comprehensively, by questioning development styles, providing information on the socioeconomic impacts of failure to treat environmental protection as a central pillar of sustainable development, performing assessments of environmental performance, proposing economic policies that include environmental considerations and promoting societies that are better informed and more participatory with regard to environmental issues.
