Foresight
Foresight studies are a discipline that provides theoretical foundations, methods and useful tools for building the future of long-term planning for development. The future is not predetermined, but is subject to many changes and possible routes, which must be understood in order to guide current activities. Institutional capacities of foresight, evaluation and interpretation of possible futures are therefore essential.

Sus acuerdos se consignan en resoluciones que se ratifican en los períodos de sesiones de la Comisión Económica para América Latina y el Caribe (CEPAL).

Nineteenth meeting of the Regional Council for Planning of ILPES
The Regional Council for Planning is a subsidiary body of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) and governs the activities of the Latin American and Caribbean Institute for Economic and Social Planning (ILPES). The member States of the Institute are represented at the meetings of the Council by their ministers or heads of planning. The agreements of the Council are set forth in resolutions, which are ratified by ECLAC at its biennial sessions.
