It analyses and measures the productivity and income effects of unequal access to health and education, as well as the consequences of inequality of opportunities arising from gender-,race- or ethnicity-based discri…

Almost two years have elapsed since the launch of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the pace of implementation in the Caribbean has remained slow. The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) has identified a lack of national institutional frameworks to support SDG implementation in most countries as a major factor in the slow pace of implementation.
This study shows that Member States that have formalized an institutional arrangement for SDG implementation have recorded appreciable progress in mainstreaming the SDGs and in building national ownership of th…

En cada uno de estos casos, se han consolidado acuerdos intergubernamentales con una especial mirada de los problemas territoriales y de la man…
The Global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Indicator Framework is endorsed by the United Nations Statistical Commission as the monitoring mechanism for the 169 targets and more than 230 indicators of the SDGs. Reporting of these indicators will pose a formidable challenge to the Caribbean given the statistical capacity of countries of the subregion. The results of an ECLAC survey show that only three of the eleven countries that participated reported having the capacity to produce at least 50 per cent of the indicators. The capacities of National Statistical Offices will need to be signif…

This is a phenomenon that is affecting developing economies around the world, but the small and vulnerable economies of the…
