However, participation is also open to those who already have experience and knowledge on the subject and wish to deepen their understanding of the specific approach of ILPES and CEPAL in foresight for development. The differences in experience,
Foresight for development knowledge, and training will enrich performance in the exercises and foster the indispensable plurality that these require.
The course is aimed at professionals from the public sector, foundations, NGOs, universities, and think tanks who are interested or previously committed to developing future exploration capabilities and their application in development and public policy areas.
Applicants must have completed university education.
COURSE OBJECTIVE
At the end of the course, participants will be able to understand the concept of foresight for development and its main approaches. They will also be able to design a methodological strategy and mechanisms for the institutionalization of foresight at different levels and institutions of the State.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
- Know, analyze, and identify in reality the concepts related to foresight for development.
- Design a methodological strategy to apply foresight for development in a practical case.
- Define mechanisms to incorporate foresight into the regular functioning of public institutions.
COURSE METHODOLOGY
The course is conducted through distance learning, using the e-learning platform provided by ILPES ECLAC. The activities have been designed mainly in an asynchronous format, although synchronous sessions focused on specific topics and application of tools are also contemplated: Wednesday, 15:00 hrs Chile (GMT-3).
With the aim of providing a practical and applied approach to each individual's reality, the course incorporates the completion of group tasks to apply the concepts and methodologies learned.
COURSE DURATION
November 5th to December 10th
The course has a duration of six weeks, with a total of 60 hours of dedication. A weekly dedication of 10 hours is estimated, which includes readings, participation in synchronous sessions, interactive activities, assignments, and practical work, among others.
