Government representatives from Latin America and the Caribbean concluded the meeting emphasizing the importance of mainstreaming population issues in public policies.
"Sustainability entails providing opportunity for all by balancing the social, economic and environmental dimensions of development", says the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
