Today the VII Ministerial Conference on the Information Society in Latin America and the Caribbean, organized virtually by ECLAC and the Government of Ecuador, came to a close.
The President of Ecuador, Lenín Moreno, and ECLAC’s Executive Secretary, Alicia Bárcena, led the inauguration of the VII Ministerial Conference on the Information Society in Latin America and the Caribbean, which is being held through Thursday.
With the Cartagena Declaration, approved at the end of the Sixth Ministerial Conference on the Information Society, the region agrees to the 2020 Digital Agenda to achieve sustainable development with equality.
Alicia Bárcena, ECLAC’s Executive Secretary, and authorities from the region inaugurated the Preparatory Meeting for the Sixth Ministerial Conference on the Information Society today in Santiago, Chile.
At the meeting of the World Economic Forum, the organization’s Executive Secretary, Alicia Bárcena, also reaffirmed the need to have a regional digital market.
