The main purpose of the 2021 SIRGAS Symposium is to bring together the geodetic community of the Americas and the Caribbean to exchange experiences and advances, as well as to formulate new projects related to the implementation, maintenance, and use of the region's reference geodetic infrastructure.
The 2021 SIRGAS Symposium activities were held in five sessions, each lasting two hours:
- November 29: Report from SIRGAS Authorities: SIRGAS President, SIRGAS Working Group Chairs, and update of the UN-GGIM GRFA: Americas
- November 29: Development and maintenance of the SIRGAS reference frame
- November 30: Modeling the Earth's gravity field (geoid, gravimetry, international height reference system)
- November 30: Applications of the SIRGAS reference frame (national reports, real-time applications, etc.)
- December 1: SIRGAS Contributions to Earth System Modeling (Troposphere, Ionosphere, Seismology, Oceanography, and Hydrography)
