Expert Group Meeting on Financing for Development

The Expert Group meeting will review a revised draft of a framework for medium term growth and development for Caribbean countries. This draft was prepared by consultants Dr. Ralph Henry and Dr. Earl Boodoo.

The Expert Group meeting will  review a revised draft of a framework for medium term growth and development for Caribbean countries. This draft was prepared by consultants Dr. Ralph Henry and Dr. Earl Boodoo.

The draft they prepared seeks to: 
-identify a framework for the development of regional economies over the next five years; 
-set a limited number of key interrelated priorities and needs; 
-estimate resource gaps and identify approaches to filling these gaps domestically, regionally and internationally. 
The framework will also aim to identify key issues that should be considered and raised by ECLAC Caribbean member states in light of the Zero Draft document that has been tabled in preparation for the Financing for Development Conference in Addis Ababa in July 2015.

The Expert Group meeting will review the document and provide recommendations for its improvement . 

1.         Opening

2.         Presentation of document - The consultants will provide participants with a
                                    brief overview of the methodology, highlighting main issues, key findings and
                                    conclusions.

3.         Discussion point I- This agenda item will focus on whether the document fully
             treats with the Terms of Reference

4.         Discussion point II – This agenda item will address whether the document fully
                                       covers the issues of financing for development, including a strategy for the
                                       Addis Conference

5.         Discussion point III – This agenda item will discuss the gaps in
             addressing financing for development issues

6.         Overall assessment by ECLAC
