(28 April 2010) For the first time ever, the Raúl Prebisch auditorium at ECLAC headquarters in Santiago was turned into a concert hall to host renowned interpreters of classical and contemporary music.
In a cultural event in benefit of the youth orchestras of Talcahuano and Cauquenes, which suffered significant loss of equipment during the earthquake in Chile last February, the public enjoyed the works of Chopin, Verdi, Saint-Saëns, Mozart, Tchaikovsky and Piazzolla, among other composers.

(22 April 2010) The works of Chopin, Verdi, Saint-Saëns, Mozart, Tchaikovsky and Piazzolla, among other composers from different eras will be interpreted at a concert in benefit of the youth orchestras of the Chilean cities of Talcahuano and Cauquenes, which lost much of their instruments and equipment during the February 27 earthquake.

(5 March 2010) UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon pledged to release up to $ 10 million from the Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) to enable UN agencies to support the Chilean government's efforts to cover urgent needs in the aftermath of the 8.8 magnitude earthquake that struck the country on 27 February.
