One line of work of the Statistics Division of ECLAC is the analysis of different statistical aspects of the SDG indicators, along with the compilation and dissemination of comparable statistics for the countries of the region and the fostering of statistical capacity-building and inter-agency coordination for the production and dissemination of these statistics.

Representatives of UN agencies and programs met at the V World Data Forum in Medellin, highlighting the importance of data for global development. The meeting strengthened regional collaboration in statistics, promoting the production of key indicators for the SDGs and joint planning in technical cooperation.
