Jorge Cordero
Jorge Cordero is a highly experienced finance and administration professional who has worked for more than 30 years in the United Nations system and the private sector. Mr. Cordero currently serves as Chief of the Division of Administration at the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) in Santiago, where he leads strategic planning, financial management and operations. He drives operational efficiency and data-driven decision-making while ensuring compliance with United Nations mandates.
Previously, Mr. Cordero was Chief of the Financial Services Section at ECLAC, where he led financial reporting, accounting and treasury functions while advising senior leadership. His leadership strengthened internal financial controls and improved team dynamics and collaboration. He also contributed to the global implementation of the Umoja Enterprise Resource Planning system as Senior Finance Officer at United Nations Headquarters, overseeing testing and training across multiple locations.
Throughout his career at the United Nations, Mr. Cordero has also gained diverse international experience at the United Nations Truce Supervision Organization in Jerusalem and ECLAC subregional headquarters in Mexico and Port of Spain.
