Briefing note
(28 October, 2011) Alicia Bárcena, Executive Secretary of ECLAC, and Ángel Gurría, Secretary-General of OECD will present the "2012 Latin American Economic Outlook " on Friday 28 October at 12 noon during the Ibero-American Summit in Asunción, Paraguay, in the Conference Room of the International Press Centre at CONMEBOL.
The Latin American Economic Outlook is an annual publication which has been launched since 2007 as part of the Ibero-American Summit. In addition to analysing the macroeconomic situation in the region, the fifth edition of the publication analyses in depth the topic of the 21st Asunción Summit, Transforming the State for development, and gives practical recommendations on how the State can respond effectively to the challenges of short and long term development.
The 2012 edition has been jointly prepared for the first time by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC).
