La misión de la CEPAL en las áreas de energía y recursos naturales es fortalecer la capacidad institucional de los países de la subregión para formular y aplicar políticas públicas y marcos normativos que permitan aumentar la eficiencia en la gestión y el desarrollo sostenible de los sectores de energía y los recursos naturales. La CEPAL busca también mayor armonización y coordinación de políticas e intercambio de buenas prácticas a nivel subregional y regional en las áreas referidas.

ECLAC promotes the Regional Energy Compacts of the SICA countries, a significant step towards a sustainable energy future
The aim of the Compacts, aligned with the targets of SDG 7, is to guarantee universal access to electricity, promote the use of renewable energy and improve energy efficiency in the region.
