Work area(s)
Topic(s)
Organized by the World Maritime Forum, Ocean Conservancy and Environmental Defense Fund, the Latin American Roundtable on Regional Opportunities for Decarbonizing Maritime Transport was held virtually on March 30-31.
The aim of the roundtable was to bring together high-level representatives from across the region - including representatives from government, the maritime industry and international organizations - to discuss opportunities related to the decarbonization of shipping, in particular, the production and commercialization of zero-emission marine fuels in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The Secretariats of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (UN-ECLAC) have provided expert advice to the roundtable organizers.
