Briefing note
The session began with a welcome and introduction round, followed by a presentation by ASA on the General Water Resources Law and the draft of the new water resources policy for El Salvador.
Subsequently, experts invited by ECLAC from the Tulane Water Institute, the Polytechnic University of Madrid, as well as ECLAC’s own technical water team, offered suggestions and technical recommendations for improvement, focusing on different aspects of the proposal, including its practicality, sustainability, and alignment with the best international practices and monitoring.
The session concluded with an interactive exchange of ideas, allowing for collaborative discussion and addressing any pending questions or concerns. This session highlighted the importance of the participation of multiple actors in the formation of effective and sustainable policies for water resource management.
