Briefing note
The Masterclass programme, organised by the Association of European Research Libraries (LIBER) and the Hernán Santa Cruz Library (ECLAC Library) of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), was held online from November 18-20, 2024. It provided a comprehensive introduction to Citizen Science, emphasizing its potential to connect research with community engagement.
Across six interactive sessions, participants explored practical strategies, methodologies, and tools to develop effective institutional policies and Citizen Science initiatives. The sessions also offered insights into creating and implementing Citizen Science projects, featuring recommendations, best practices, and inspiring examples of successful projects led by libraries.
The programme was designed for librarians, researchers and senior policymakers of research-intensive institutions interested in starting or advancing their Citizen Science efforts. All course materials, including video recordings and session details, are available for access here.
