The Second World Congress on Geospatial Information, held in Hyderabad, India, brought together experts, government representatives, and key stakeholders from around the world to promote cooperation on the strategic use of geospatial information.

During the Second World Congress on Geospatial Information, organized by the Government of the Republic of India in Hyderabad, the importance of "community", "collaboration", and "engagement" with the United Nations Integrated Geospatial Information Framework (UN-IGIF) was highlighted as key elements in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, addressing climate challenges, and ensuring that no one is left behind.
The congress program, held from October 11 to 14, 2022, included three plenary sessions featuring nine keynote speakers from diverse regions and sectors. They addressed topics such as sustainable development, social well-being, digital transformation, technological advancement, and environmental and climate challenges, reinforcing the call for joint action.
In addition to the plenary sessions, four special sessions were held with panels composed of representatives of national agencies from Member States and forty parallel thematic sessions, totaling 121 presenters.
During the Congress week, two special events focused on the participation of children, youth, and underrepresented groups were also held, as well as eight side events and three formal meetings, consolidating this meeting as a key space for dialogue and global exchange on geospatial information.
