ECLAC will Update Its Growth Projections for Latin American and Caribbean’s Countries

United Nations organization will give a press conference to unveil the preliminary overview of the region’s economies in 2016 and new projections for 2017.

The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) will present on Wednesday, December 14 its Preliminary Overview of the Economies of Latin America and the Caribbean 2016, in which it will update its growth estimates for the region’s countries in 2016 and projections for 2017.

Alicia Bárcena, ECLAC’s Executive Secretary, will give a press conference to present the report at the Commission’s headquarters in Santiago, Chile, at 3:00 p.m. local time (UTC/GMT -3:00). The event will also be broadcast live on the Internet via the institution’s Web site.

The Preliminary Overview of the Economies of Latin America and the Caribbean is one of ECLAC’s most important annual reports. In its 2016 edition, it will analyze the economic performance of the region throughout the year, the international context and macroeconomic policies implemented by countries, while also providing an outlook for 2017.
